After some delays, the submission time for the theme contest in compliment to the PHP-Fusion Core 7 Edition has ended.

We received 5 submissions from 4 participants. They all the mastered the task of plainly making the themes working and thus you have the opportunity to preview them here directly.

The Jury consisting of PHP-Fusion Crew members and Andrew Gai of Netriox/Forge Hosting who is sponsoring the hosting prize will judge the themes now. After that, you, the community, will have the possibility to vote on your favorites. Afterwards the winners will be announced.

As you probably noticed, PHP-Fusion 7 was finally released. If you already got tired of it's brand new look, which I hope you did not, you can download two News Category Image Packs on the main PHP-Fusion site. Both include 6 colour schemes and a PSD file for customization.

As promised, I wrote a guide on how to update PHP-Fusion 6 themes to work with PHP-Fusion 7. You can find this guide in the PHP-Fusion Wiki. It would be nice if you could try to update a theme using this guide and let me know if you faced any problems or did not understand any of the steps. I will try to improve the guide according to your comments. You can either add them to the discussion page of the article (You can login to the Wiki using the account you are using on PHP-Fusion UK) or as comment on this news.
I hope this helps you to update your themes. I will really appreciate it if you submit themes updated for PHP-Fusion 7 to the Theme Database.

You probably already noticed that it's contest time and I invite you all to participate in the PHP-Fusion 7 Release Theme Contest. You can win Hosting by Netriox and the first Award of the new Theme Database Awards. Chances of winning are pretty good as some very good themers are not allowed to win the contest (but I hope they participate for the fun though), because they are in the PHP-Fusion staff.
So read the Announcement and the Rating Information on the Main site and get going :)
I will add some pressure on the preparation of some guides about the new features to help you.

The updates of the site and the DB were successfully completed. All features should more or less work like before. Themes for Version 6 are displayed in a demo environment when you switch to them (I will add some sample content there).
The display options were fixed and will be redesigned a bit soon.
There is a new awards feature which allows to award themes with special awards for reaching certain achievements. A first nice challenge is soon to come.
The Submission Handling was improved. The structure of the zip archive is tested for compliance with the submission guidelines. I want the submission guidelines to be kept better in the future. In the past the majority of submissions failed to comply with the archive structure. A homogeneous structure will enable me to add some special features in the future (e.g. make download packages of custom theme selections), so please take a closer look at the guidelines :)
I hope I also fixed some bugs in the submission file handling, but that will require testing, so I'm waiting for your submissions ;)

Some more Theme DB features are still hidden. They need some more testing and care before I will release them.

As you know, PHP-Fusion v7 is coming closer as visible in the recently released release candidate. I am currently working on upgrading the Theme Database to V7. During this process I'm also adding some new features. I hope to get the site and DB ready until Monday evening CET.
Afterwards, I will focus on a guide I started which is explaining the changes the theme system underwent from PHP-Fusion v6 to v7. This will include general stuff about the reasons and concepts behind the new system, help on converting v6 to v7 themes and tips&tricks which will help you to make the most of your themes with the array of new possibility we provide you with in PHP-Fusion v7.
When I get the guide ready soon enough, I will provide you with some scripts which help you update the basic theme & style structure.
As you see, we are all facing busy times. I'm excited about all the changes and eager to see how you use the new possibilities. Thus I want to get the guide ready as soon as possible and you can help me by requesting topics or questions I should handle or answer in the guide.

I want to wish all of you a merry Christmas,a happy New Year's Eve and happy holidays with your friends and family. I would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to this site during the last year. During the last year you have submitted 75 themes. The most downloaded themes were Revision, Gaming CS and Darken.
Generally, there was a constant increase of the site's traffic during the last year:


I hope that the next year will also be a year of fertile collaboration.
2008 will be an exciting year as PHP-Fusion v7 will be released and open a set of new possibilities for theme designers. I'm already looking forward to how you guys and gals will use these new features for even more stunning themes.

I added A new, experimental Feature for Theme DB Authors and Submitters. You can now get a autogenerated Signature Image that displays your ThemeDB stats and some general info.

The rendered images are cached and for now only updated once per day. Try it out and tell me your opinion!

I would like to wish you a happy new year 2007 once again myself.
I would also like to thank everybody who participated here, be it as visitor viewing, downloading and rating themes or as a more active member by submitting themes, commenting on other themes and asking and answering questions in the Forum. Of course, my small but powerful Team that supported me here is not to be forgotten. And all the kind people in the whole PHP-Fusion Crew that supported the development of this website deserve words of thanks.
I am really happy that you all accepted this site despite the chaos and confusion at the very beginning. I was also taken by surprise when I was asked to set up this new Theme Site, but I think we then did quite good in the last few months.
This does not mean that we will stop or rest now. With new features just added, you can see that the Theme Database as Core of PHP-Fusion Themes is still and will be expanding. I have a number of features in mind that I will integrate bit by bit over the next weeks, months and year.
I hope I can also reckon on your activity, be it as visitor, as submitter, theme designer or team member.

I zapped up the Latest Theme Panel a bit and added a ThemeDB User Statistic that is displayed in the Profile of ThemeDB Theme Submitters or Authors.
This is the first step of some more changes that will follow soon, so stay tuned :)
